About Julia Gibson-Cranch
Julia has worked in supporting children, young people and adults for over 27 years in the NHS and a further 5 years for the Anna Freud Centre. She is a specialist in working with children, adolescents and families who are experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties. You can view her detailed profile below.
With the changes in the NHS and funding, the ability for parents to seek help and advice for themselves and their children is diminishing. Often the problems have to reach critical before a GP is allowed to refer to a service who can help.
Julia can offer straight forward help and advice to parents, focused counselling sessions for children and adolescents of all ages and family appointments when requested. She is also a qualified nurse, teacher & assessor of mental health and certified parenting course leader.
Julia has worked successfully with those suffering from: behavioural problems, ADHD, self harm, eating disorders, anxiety, obsessive compulisive disorders, depression (including post natal), school refusal or problems, post traumatic syndrome, borderline personality disorder and thought disorders.
Julia's work is based on a passion for ensuring 'well being' for all and belief that parents are in the best place to help their children grow. Children do not come with a guide book or an 'off' switch, and parenting is often a daunting and overwhelming task which lasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Parents often want to do the best for their children, but are overwhelmed by media and professional advice. Julia offers an opportunity to break through the jumble and find clarity, help and a real way forward.
Julia is based in Essex, but will travel to other areas of the UK. Jules also offers a telephone support & virtual platform service to some long distance or house bound clients. She has a great success rate, and there are a number of children and families who have given testimonial to her interventions. (see testimonials)
